What types of rooms are available in the hotel and what are the differences between the rooms?

The hotel has three categories of room: superior, deluxe and executive.

Superior rooms are located on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floor and deluxe rooms are located on the 4th floor. The Deluxe rooms are equipped with upgraded amenities including tea & coffee making facilities, free local phone calls and free newspapers.

Executive rooms are located on the 5th floor and the room rate includes complimentary breakfast, lounge and butler service.



Are your hotel rates per room or per person?

The rates charged are per room although the cost may differ slightly for single, double and triple occupancy.



How much money do I have to pay for the supplement to upgrade the room?

From Superior to Deluxe room: US$ 10.-nett.

From Deluxe room to Executive room: US$ 25.-nett.




Does my room reservation require any guarantee?

All room reservations require a credit card guarantee.



How do I cancel my hotel reservation without a charge?

To cancel your booking without incurring any charge, please contact the Reservations Department by email ( reservations@airport.amari.com) at least one day prior to your arrival. You will then be given a cancellation number.



How many people can stay in one room?

Each guest room can accommodate a maximum of three people. Please note that the third bed will be a rollaway bed.



Do you offer discounts for a group booking?

For details of the group rates, please contact the Sales Department. The e-mail address is sales@airport.amari.com.



Do you have a pet policy?

We regret that animals are not allowed to stay in guest rooms. If you bring animals with you, they will be kept in a separate area of the hotel. This service is free of charge.



Does the internet rate include breakfast?

Breakfast is sometimes included in the internet rate. For details of the rates applicable to a particular period, please go to http://www.amari.com/airport/hotels-roomsrates.asp.



What are the standard check-in and check-out times of the hotel?

The standard check-in time is 14.00 and check-out is at 12.00 noon.



Is it possible to check-in earlier?

It is sometimes possible to check in earlier, however, this depends on availability and cannot be guaranteed. However, to be sure of having the room ready upon arrival, you can reserve the room from the night before.



Do you provide a service for late check-out?

It is possible to have a late check-out and the charges are as follows:



For Superior Room and Deluxe Room

Until 18.00hrs Single Double Triple



For Executive Room

Until 18.00hrs Single Double Triple



Rates are subject to 10% service charge and applicable government tax.




Why is the guest room key card needed for the elevators?

In the interest of guest security, a valid room key card is required to access the guest floors.



Do you have twin, triple and quadruple room?

We do have twin and triple room. However, no quadruple rooms are available.



What is the cost of putting an extra bed in the room?

The cost of putting an extra bed in a Superior or Deluxe room is US$ 35 and in an Executive room is US$ 45.-. Rates are subject to 10% service charge and applicable government tax.



Are king-size beds available in the rooms?

Yes, we have king size beds in some of the rooms, and they can be requested upon reservation or check-in.



Do you have rooms with a bathtub?

Yes, we do. All guest rooms have a bathtub.



What television channels are available in the rooms?

We have 21 Channels in guest rooms. These are as follows although they are subject to change:



Maginet / pay-per-view movie system, TVE-Spain, TV 3 (Thai), TV 5 (Thai), TV 7 (Thai), ETTV-Asia, DW(English/German – news, entertainment, sport), Bloomberg, KBS World, Japanese TV, Star Movies, TV 5 (French – news, entertainment, sport), ABC-Asia Pacific, BBC World, Educational, Movie Channel, Sports Channel, CNN, Classical Music, Jazz Music.



Do you have non-smoking rooms?

Yes, most of our rooms are non-smoking and are available upon request.



Is there a safely deposit box available at the hotel?

There is a safe in every guest room. There are also safety boxes available at the Front desk. They are available free of charge.



Is email service available at the hotel?

Guest are able to send and receive email at the Business Centre.

Internet access:

  • Bht. 107 for half an hour.

  • Bht 8 for each additional minutes after that.
Printing costs:

  • Black & White: 20 baht per page

  • Colour: 70 baht per page
We offer dual telephone sockets in the Executive room. For Superior and Deluxe rooms, dual telephone sockets are available upon request.



Travelling with children

Is a babysitting service available?

Yes, we have babysitting service available only on request 1 day in advance. Cost is Baht 120.- per hour.



What facilities are available for children?

Special children menus with light dishes as well as high chairs are available in all our restaurants. The poolside may be used only under parental supervision.



Are baby cots available for the rooms?

Baby cots are available on request.



Are high chairs available in the restaurants?

Yes, we do have high chairs available in all our restaurants.


Dining

Where is breakfast served and at what times?

An American breakfast buffet is served in the Zeppelin Restaurant on the ground floor from 06.00 - 10.30.






How many restaurants and bars do you have and what are they?

We have 4 restaurants in the hotel:

  • Zeppelin Restaurant (open 6am to midnight)

  • Henry J. Bean’s Bar & Grill (Tex-Mexican Pub & Restaurant with live entertainment, Open Sun-Thursday, 17.00-01.00

  • Cockpit Lounge, with a wide variety of drinks and snacks, is open daily from 07.00-00.00.

  • Pool Bar, for light refreshments and cocktails, open from 09.00-18.00 daily.



Is vegetarian cuisine available in the restaurants?

A selection of vegetarian dishes is available in every outlet.



Is a special menu available for children?

Yes, we have special menus for children in all restaurants.



Do you have 24 hour room service?

Yes, we do.


General Hotel Information

Is there a swimming pool in the hotel?

There is one outdoor swimming pool, located on the 2nd floor. Open from 06.00 – 24.00.



How much parking space is available at the hotel?

The parking lot can accommodate up to 450 cars.



Do you have hairdryers in the rooms?

Hairdryers are available in every guest room.



How do I get to the hotel?

The Amari Don Muang Airport Hotel is located near the former Bangkok international airport. By car, the hotel is just a 35 to 45-minute journey from the new Suvannabhumi International Airport. For more information link to http://www.amari.com/airport/fastfactslocation.asp



Do you have any special packages for honeymoons and anniversaries?

Do you have a tour desk where I can book excursions during my stay?

There is currently no tour desk available in-house, but we will be able to make recommendations according to your needs.



Do you have special facilities and services available for the disabled guests?

Yes, we have rooms specially equipped for disabled guests in the hotel and the rest rooms in public areas are also easily accessible by guests in a wheel chair. All floors and restaurants are also accessible by a wheelchair.



Can the hotel reconfirm my ongoing flight and make arrangement for domestic and international flights?

Yes, the Guest Relations staff in the Lobby will be pleased to assist with your travel arrangements.



Is a doctor available at the hotel?

We have a doctor on call 24 hours.



Can I get a massage at the hotel?

Yes, you can, this service is available on the 5th floor at the fitness center and is open daily from 07.00-02.00hrs.



How far is the nearest hospital to the hotel?

15 kms away from the hotel. It takes around 20 minutes by taxi. There are 2 hospitals: Nontavej Hospital and Vipavadi Hospital.



Where is the nearest bank or currency exchange?

Currency can be exchanged in our front office on the ground floor. The nearest bank is located in the International Airport which is a 5 minutes' walk away.



What is the currency in Thailand?

The currency in Thailand is Baht. Check the current exchange rate on our home page.



At what time do the banks open?

Banks are open from 09.30 am until 15.30 pm Monday to Friday only.



Are there shops at the hotel?

Yes, we have a shopping arcade in the hotel (a tailor, a jewelry store, a barber shop, a boutique, a carpet shop). Open from 10.00-22.00.



Can baggage be stored at the hotel whilst I travel to another location in Thailand?

Hotel guests can use the storage facility at the Amari Airport Hotel free of charge if they spend at least one night at the hotel. However, guests will not be allowed to store the baggage whilst they travel to another location in Thailand.

Unfortunately, the storage facility service is not available for non-guests.



To what frequent flyer programs is the hotel a member?

You can obtain benefits the following airline frequency programs: South African Airways, American Airlines Aadvantage, Asiana Club, Lufthansas Partner von Miles & More, Thai Airways's Royal Orchid Plus, United's Mileage Plus, ANA's Mileage Club, Delta's Sky Miles, NWA's World Perks and Varig's Smiles.



What beauty facilities are available at the hotel?

We offer a barber shop providing body polishes, manicure, pedicure, make up and hair styling at the shopping arcade.



What voltage do you use in Thailand?

The voltage in Thailand is 220 voltage. Adaptors are available at the hotel upon request.



What is the VAT refund system in Thailand?

Tourists are able to claim back the VAT on larger purchases when they exit the country. Most department stores provide the necessary forms for completion and will assist you.



Is it safe to drink tap water in Thailand?

The tap water in Thailand is not potable. Complimentary drinking water is provided in all guest rooms.



What is the weather like at different times of the year?

As a general guideline, the weather in Thailand is warm all year round. However, the weather is generally most pleasant from November to February when there are clear skies and sunshine. The hot season is from April and May, when temperatures reach their highest. The rainy season is between June and September although it does not rain every day and usually the rain only lasts for an hour or so in the evening.



What should I wear in Thailand ?

Thai people are quite modest. Conservative dress is recommended. Shorts and sleeveless vests cannot be worn to visit a temple.



Are there any golf courses near the hotel?

Yes, there are many. The Muang Ake golf course and air force golf courses are the nearest ones, being only 10 Kms from the hotel.


Business Travellers' Section

Can I connect my laptop in the room?

Yes, laptops can be connected to the regular phone line.



Do you have an express check out service?

Yes. Simply fill out the form in the room and hand it to the front desk cashier.



What newspapers does the hotel receive and can these be delivered to my room?

We have Bangkok Post, The Nation, International Herald Tribune, The Asian Wall Street Journal and the Japanese Yomiuri Newspaper, which are available from the concierge on request. Guest staying in superior rooms can pick one of the above mentioned newspapers at the Concierge without any charges. For guests staying in our deluxe and executive rooms, we offer a daily free delivery of newspapers.



Can I rent a mobile phone?

Unfortunately, we do not provide this service. However, mobile phones can be rented in the International Terminal 1, ground floor.



Are secretarial and other business services such as translation available?

We can provide basic secretarial support services. For specialized needs it may be necessary to employ an outside company. Please contact the business center to discuss your exact needs.



Are offices available for rent at the hotel?

We have a boardroom which is available for rent depending on use. Daily charge is Baht 5000.-, room charge.



Other services such as catering and equipment are available.



Shopping and tourist facilites

Are there any shopping centres near the hotel and if so, where are they?

Future Park and Major Megaplex (one of the biggest shopping and entertainment complexes in Asia-bowling, movie theatres, etc.) is located nearby and it takes approximately 10 minutes by car. Alternatively, you can go downtown using the hotel’s shuttle bus. We provide a shuttle service to the Amari Watergate Hotel downtown, several times throughout the day at Baht 70.- per person, per way.



How far is the hotel from the downtown shopping areas?

It is around 30-45 minutes by car without traffic jam. It is more convenient to visit the Future Park. (See above question).



How can I get to main shopping areas?

1. Shuttle bus to downtown, available several times a day at Baht 70.- per person, per way.

2. Taxi (cost depending on travel time and exact destination, approx. 100-200 Baht)




Is the hotel far from the Sky Train or MRT?

The sky train (BTS) and underground (MRT) system only operate in the city centre. The nearest BTS/MRT station is about 15-20 minutes by car/taxi and is called Mo Chit station.



Are you close to the theatres/entertainment venues?

Yes, it takes approximately 10 minutes by car to the entertainment venues.



What are the local tourist attractions?

All of the main tourist attractions such as the Golden Buddha Temple, the Royal Palace and Wat Arun, are located in the city center. Alternatively, you can head north of the city to the ancient capital of Auythaya.



What is the best way to see the city of Bangkok?
